Why is it useful to work with our dreams?
How can we understand the sometimes baffling language of dreams?
What about dreams that tell us what the future holds?
And lucid dreaming – can it help us with nightmares and empower us to take action in our lives?
All of these questions and more we discussed on a French TV show this morning. What joy to share the platform with warm-hearted philosopher Frederic Lenoir, who has just written a book on Carl Jung, so there was a beautiful dream connection in this televised space.

This is a CANAL+ show with the wonderful Karine Arsene who was the first person to create a show on spiritually enlightening topics in the whole of France. I shared a profound precognitive dream I had with an archetypal Wise Old Woman who showed me how to prepare spiritually for a tragic and unexpected event that was due to unfold in my life just a few weeks later.
Together with the sparkling Francois, we all had a lovely discussion about dream symbols, the collective unconscious, lucidity, overcoming fears, and precognitive dreams… all IN FRENCH, which is not my native language, and I could hear myself making mistakes but on TV there’s no time to hesitate and backtrack and correct yourself, so I ploughed on and just enjoyed the moment!
The dream energy was tangible as Karine shared a Buddha dream and Frederic talked about Carl Jung’s incredible work. I shared stories of how kids can overcome recurring nightmares by drawing help into their “nightmare story” pictures, and asking the dream monster why it was chasing them – turns out some scary dream figures are simply lonely and want our attention 🙂
I also got to spend a few days in beautiful, energised, lively Paris, with blue sky and golden sunsets on the Seine, and vertiginous Eiffel Tower views that reminded me of soaring high in my dreams. I feel lucky to be able to talk about dreams as my actual “work”, and help people to navigate the strange and fabulous worlds we inhabit during the night.
